Bringing your own AI keys, and platform-billed models
Bringing your own AI keys means the customer has the model account and supplies the key. The model provider bills the customer for that use. Platform-billed models means the workspace operator pays the provider and bills the customer for model use, inside a subscription or as its own line. Those are two ways the model bill can be arranged. This page defines the arrangements. It does not say which one to pick.
ALSTEAD sits in the first arrangement. Customers bring their own AI keys. The staged ALSTEAD prices are not model credits. Free is $0, Personal is $19 per month, and Pro is $49 per month, per owner, monthly, as labeled staged / not live checkout. Stripe is test mode only. Those figures are not live checkout. Confirmed plan prices do not confirm model-billing terms.
ALSTEAD is for builders running coding agents who want a bounded hosted workspace. This page does not name a further ICP.
What a careful answer includes
Say that two bills exist when both exist. One is the workspace subscription, once paid plans open. Nothing is on sale yet, and ALSTEAD is free while in alpha. The other is model use on the customer's key, billed by that provider. This page cannot price the second bill. A single monthly total would be a fixed-cost estimate, and this page does not make one.
Pro's planned compute (10 sandbox hours and 5 cloud computer hours per month, no rollover, once they're verified) is time on sandboxes and cloud computers. None of that time is available in this alpha. It is not a bundle of model tokens. Free and Personal, on the staged card, do not include that compute. None of the three prices includes a guessed model invoice.
What this page will not fill in
It does not name a model provider as supported. It does not say where a key is stored, how it is encrypted, or who can read it. It does not say ALSTEAD adds a markup, and it does not say ALSTEAD charges no markup. Neither statement is in the allowed facts.
A competitor may describe its own mix of customer-paid model bills and an operator-paid opt-in. That description belongs to the competitor page we fetched, and it is cited only on the plan-context page, with the fetch date. It is not pasted onto ALSTEAD here.
There is no preference claim here. Nothing in the source files says that builders comparing key arrangements trust one more than the other. This page does not make that claim.
